BASIC FUNCTION: 

          The Custom Engineering Group (CEG) is responsible for a variety of duties within the Engineering Department.  These duties include support for Customer Service, requests for information and support of the external sales force. The group is responsible for the Design and Development of Custom Products including Crane fulfillment and Custom product features as requested by our customers.       

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide written input to Customer Service for the preparation of Crane System or Custom Product quotes. Provide written responses to Requests for Information.
  • Prepare order design and generate CAD drawings, 3D Models and other documents for manufacturing and assembly. Support production as necessary.
  • Participate in the generation of Design Basis documents (Engineering Docs/Drawings/Electrical Diagrams) and review the output of others. 
  • Provide verbal response (by phone or in person) to questions from Customer Service, Manufacturing & Production, Sales, Distributors and End Users.   
  • Perform sporadic Product Support offering installation and troubleshooting expertise for in-field operations. 
  • Occasionally accompany sales personnel on sales calls. 
  • Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member. Work closely with Production personnel to resolve design issues, troubleshoot or to enhance workflow. 
  • Lead continuous improvement for Custom Order Fulfillment. 
  1. Solicit input and ideas from stakeholders such as production personnel, and management/supervision team.
  2. Contribute own inputs and ideas for continuous improvement.
  3. Work with the Design Automation Group to develop enhancement to ETO fulfillment. 
  4. Perform other duties as requested by company management.

Provide professional, courteous, and efficient service to our customers’ inquiries related to all products sold by the Company (except for cranes and crane components).  Work together with other members of the Customer Service Department to provide consistent performance above and beyond the expectations of our customers and co-workers.

 

Qualifications:

       College degree preferred, two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.  Prior Customer Service experience - two years preferred.  Successful completion of company training on products and procedures is required. Excellent verbal and written communication, data entry, organization, accuracy, and problem solving.  Computer knowledge to include Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access. Ability to learn, understand, and explain our technical products. Ability to sit and perform data entry for long periods of time.  Ability to travel periodically.

Heats steel, bending material to varying degrees using a variety of manual and automated equipment.

 

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of basic computer skills and general knowledge of G and M coding systems. Good communication skills. Mechanical aptitude. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to operate/use various measuring tools including micrometers, calipers and tape measures. Ability to stand for 8+ hours per day, some stooping and squatting. Routinely lift 60 pounds.

Perform, under minimum supervision, the function of lay-out, fabricating and mig welding. 


Qualifications:

Must have high school diploma or acceptable equivalent.  Must be able to obtain welding certification within six months of hiring date.  Ability to read and interpret blueprints. 1-3 years welding experience preferred.  Able to safely handle various forms of material handling equipment.  Ability to use various measuring tools.  Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.  Routine stooping and bending.   Ability to stand 7+ hours per day.

BASIC FUNCTION:   

 

Operate the electric band saw/Shear/Punch Press to prepare parts for Machining or Welding. 

 

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  •          Use metal cutting band saw to cut steel prior to machining.
  •          Clean and remove rust and debris from steel using electric angle grinder.
  •          Assist with loading and unloading of trucks.
  •          Use material handling equipment (Crane and Hoist) to place steel into storage racks.
  •          Clean and maintain saw and area around the saw.
  •          Operate hydraulic punch to punch holes into steel.
  •          Program and Operate NC ironworker.
  •          Clean and maintain steel cleaning equipment.
  •          Responsible for producing acceptable work which meets or exceeds all Quality Control Standards.
  •          Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
  •          Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.
  •          Perform other duties as assigned or required by company management.
